Before plantings are installed, the area for Hardscapes should be
determined. The Hardscapes we install include: concrete pavers,
segmented retaining walls, bluestone and natural stone to create
things such as walkways, patios, driveways, retaining walls,
decorative walls and other outdoor features.
All of these features should be designed to take into account the local topography, usage and aesthetic appeal. Hardscapes should be installed properly using ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) standards for Pavers, and NCMA (National Concrete Masonry Association) standards for retaining walls. The David A. Lenz Landscape Service LLC installers use these methods and attend continuing education classes on proper techniques to ensure proper installation. Too many contractors cut corners and do not install pavers or walls properly. They do not use the proper base material or install the product incorrectly. Consequently the wall, patio or walkway will fail. The product must be replaced at a higher cost to the client. We install the Hardscapes right the first time.
